Hourly ForecastEach hour's percent is the chance for that hour alone β it typically reads lower than the day's overall chance, which covers a much longer window.
The BubbleHQ Indexes turn real, live weather data into plain-language (and occasionally ridiculous) readouts. Here's what's under the hood β everything updates with current conditions.
π Vibe Index
Our signature "is it nice out?" score, 0β100. It blends the daylight temperature, wind, humidity, and precipitation into one rating of how pleasant the day feels, then knocks it down for any active weather hazards. Higher is better β a calm, mild, sunny day scores near the top, while cold, windy, or stormy weather pulls it down.
πͺ Butt-to-Carseat
How brutal your vehicle's seat is about to be. Starts from the air temperature, then adds a bonus for the heat index (how much hotter it feels than the air), capped at 120. A cool day reads "Crosby Cool"; a real scorcher pins the needle at "Supernova Shocker."
πΈ Swamp-O-Meter
A stickiness score built mostly from the dew point, nudged up by heat over 75Β° and down by wind: roughly 2.8Γ(dew point β 45) + 1.25Γ(degrees over 75Β°) β 0.5Γ(wind, capped at 20 mph). Dry and breezy stays "Prairie Pleasant"; a muggy calm afternoon climbs toward "Swamp Ass."
𦴠Aches & Pains
An experimental 0β100 weather-sensitivity index blending five signals: 24-hour pressure change (40%), humidity (20%), 24-hour temperature swing (20%), wind (10%), and temperature extremes (10%). Rapid pressure swings and muggy, changeable air are what weather-sensitive folks tend to notice most. This is just for fun β it is not a medical, arthritis, or health prediction.
π Air Quality
Live AQI straight from the EPA's AirNow network, re-labeled in BubbleHQ terms: Bubbly (Good), Watford Whiff (Moderate), Mandan Marlboro (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups), Minot Menthol (Unhealthy), Williston Drag (Very Unhealthy), and Smoker's Hut (Hazardous).
βοΈ UV Index & πΏ Pollen
Coming soon β we're wiring up real data sources for these two.
These indexes are meant to be helpful and a little bit fun. They're derived from live observations and forecasts, and the playful ones aren't scientific ratings.
